About Ros Geuss, PhD

ros-photoAs the Higher Education and Careers Counselor at the International School of Luxembourg (ISL) and educator for over 23 years, I have advised, coached, encouraged, and supported hundreds of high school students and career professionals from all corners of the world.

Today, I work primarily with students and professionals from New York City, the Hudson Valley (specifically Dutchess County and Ulster County, as I reside in Rhinebeck and work with students in person who live in neighboring communities such as Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Millbrook, Hudson, Beacon, Hyde Park, and LaGrange.) I also advise and support students living overseas with the process of self and occupational discovery and higher education planning.

I spearheaded and managed career education, led higher education counseling programs, guided students pursuing college and university study in the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. I developed expertise in degree programs taught in English around the globe and supported student personal and academic growth in grades 9-12. I was the college counselor to International Baccalaureate Diploma students and served as the Advanced Placement, SAT, ACT and TOEFL supervisor at ISL. I also provided learning support and taught study skills to students wanting to maximize their middle and high school achievement.

From a parent’s perspective, I experienced the excitement of supporting my three children’s college decision-making and application processes as well as their early career development.

I am passionate about supporting, guiding, and inspiring young people as they discover themselves, explore post-secondary educational options, and prepare for their career lives after high school and college. I am committed to adhering to professional ethical principles and standards that are designed to serve the best interests of my clients.

I keep up-to-date with college admissions trends, academic opportunities and campus knowledge, as well as occupational information and career coach competencies, to ensure that my college counseling and career development coaching clients are all well-positioned for fulfilling future roles in a dynamic and changing world.

**As a Certified Career Development Facilitator and Career Coach, I am a consultant and instructor for summer career exploration programs in Luxembourg and adult career education courses as well as an active Career Coach for the Dress for Success Program. I work with young adults launching their careers after college or training programs, people reentering the workforce, as well as mid-career and retired individuals who want or need to refocus and discover a new occupational direction.

I love my career, and want to give everyone with whom I partner an opportunity to love their work as well.
